Aguiar da Beira is a small County in the centre of Portugal. With an impressive forested area, lovely sights, historical monuments and tasty regional gastronomy, Aguiar da Beira met Orienteering for the first time in 2014. Since then, many have been the races held in the area and many Orienteers have visited us, both for competition and training camps.
JWOC TOUR Event Office
On Saturday 9th (9h00 to 18h30) and Sunday 10th (9h00 to 19h30) the Event Office for JWOC TOUR will be located at the Event Center – Cultural Center.
On the other days, JWOC TOUR Event Office will be located at the competition arenas.
All TOUR participants must wear the oficial Bib number, so you need to go to the Event Office prior to your first stage.
ARENA CARAPITO
Driving to the Arena Carapito parking: To reach Arena Carapito parking it is mandatory to follow Organizer’s instructions (arrows from the Event Center to Arena Carapito), otherwise there is a high risk of entering embargoed area. The arrival to Arena Carapito parking need to be done from West side – at N330 road, drivers must take the exit “Eirado” & “Carapito”, as indicated by Organizer’s arrows. All the other access possibilities to Carapito are forbidden to use. Entering Carapito urban area by car is, naturally, strictly forbidden. On site, please follow instructions from Organizers for parking.
Parking to Arena: Walking distance between 1000 and 1400 meters. The way from parking to Arena will be marked using arrows.
ARENA QUINTA DAS LAMEIRAS
Driving to the Arena Quinta das Lameiras parking: Organizers will set arrows from the Event Center to Arena Quinta das Lameiras parking. Contrary to the situation in Carapito, it doesn’t matter which way you arrive to Quinta das Lameiras. Parking arrows will be placed on road N229 and will be visible to drivers coming from West and from East. On site, please follow instructions from Organizers. Do not park on the side of the road unless you are asked to do so.
Parking to Arena: Walking distance between 800 and 1200 meters. The way from parking to Arena will be marked using arrows.
The easiest way to travel to Aguiar da Beira is by car. The closest airport is Porto, but Lisbon and Madrid can be good options.There is no train service neither in Aguiar da Beira or close. However there is a good bus service, provided by Rede Expresso, that can be used if you are not renting a car.There are two options to travel to Aguiar da Beira by public transport:

The organizer will not offer transfer services from and to airports. However, there is a travel company in Aguiar da Beira that can provide that kind of service. Below you can see the approximate prices for this service. Minor changes in prices might occur closer to the event.
